Q. I’ve never boxed before, do you teach beginners?
A. YES! Everyone start as a beginner. If you are in
a novice camp, you are with a group that has no
previous boxing experience.
Q. What is the atmosphere like?
A. Like nothing you have ever experienced.
Boxing is an intimidating sport/activity and
everyone feels a little nervous walking through
the doors. You will be so pleasantly surprised
when you walk into a wall of high energy,
fun and kindness.
Q. Do you have a trial session available?
A. If you can imagine when you first tried to
ride a bike, and you only got one trial go at it.
Wow, how frustrating would that be? Remember,
this is real boxing and you must learn it to enjoy
it and get the great benefits it offers.
Q. Do I have to get into the ring and spar?
A. NO. All supervised sparring is optional.
Most campers never spar, but if you feel a little
spunky and want to test some of the great skills
you’ve learned, you can sign-up for Sparring
Fridays.
Q. What if I want to compete?
A. If you have time to dedicate, the focus,
the perseverance and Patience competition
is definitely an option.
Q. Am I too old or too young to box?
A. We have campers from age 6 to 70.
Q. Do I need to be in good shape to box?
A. Many new campers have not previously been a part of a regular workout program. It’s never too late to try something new!
Q. Are your boxing camps co-ed?
A. Yes, we have a nice even mix of ‘boys and girls’. Forget about “just lunch” how about “just boxing”. On a serious note, everyone comes to Prime Time to get a great workout in a non-intimidating environment where they don’t have to worry about what they look like. No fancy attire, just tennis shoes and sweat!
Q. Do I need equipment? What do I wear?
A. You will need to purchase bag gloves, jump rope and hand wraps, all of which we sell at the training facilities. Everlast is our partner so we can give you the most competitive prices on gear.
