Prime Time Boxing from cary williams-nunez on Vimeo.
After a month and a half of shopping around for a boxing club, I have finally found it. Dear baby jeebus, their instructors are wonderful. They are very clear and detailed about how to position your body, throw your punch, and overall do a fantastic job of giving you the logic behind the maneuvers. I ALWAYS leave drenched, but that is EXACTLY what I wanted.
I absolutely love that they have really early classes available. It makes it so much easier to wake up, go to boxing, shower (ladies, you could even shower there!) and head to work. Knowing myself, if I didn't go in the morning, I wouldn't go at all.
Four stars for not having loaner equipment. Fortunately, I was set on buying my own gloves, and wraps because I do find it slightly gross to wear used ones not knowing how thoroughly cleaned they were-- if at all. However, I have invited a few of my friends to do a trial class, but immediately upon hearing that they have to drop around 60 bucks for equipment for something they might not even end up committing to really turns away some newcomers.
When I bought my equipment, the front desk worker gave me 3 free classes. All in all, not a bad deal considering other places wanted me to sign a year contract on the spot. I soon went online and saw the groupon everyone was talking about. So I paid around 80 bucks for my own pink gloves, pink wraps, jump rope, 3 drop in classes and 10 classes from groupon. Sooooooo not complaining. :)
